Public Value Award 2022

LEIPZIG, Germany - July 26, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

140 young companies applied for the Public Value Award for start-ups this year. Since 2016, the award has honored start-ups that contribute to the common good in a special way. The Public Value Award for start-ups strengthens a positive and sustainable approach to business, particularly among young entrepreneurs. It makes it clear that companies are part of society and must play a constructive role in shaping it and making it fit for the future. The award is organized by Forum Gemeinwohl e.V., supported by the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL), the City of Leipzig, EY, ZEISS, Leipziger Messe and the LF Group.

A few days ago, the jury with representatives from business, science, politics, and last but not least students from Saxon high schools selected the seven finalists. The central selection criterion was the common good contribution of the start-ups in the five dimensions of the Public Value Scorecard (task fulfillment, decency, social cohesion, quality of life, and efficiency). The finalists will pitch live for the jury and audience prizes on Oct. 13 in Leipzig. Interested parties can vote for the audience award as early as Oct. 1 at www.publicvalueaward.de.

The finalists are:

  • Enpal GmbH (Berlin, enpal.de) - the company wants to make the use of solar energy suitable for mass production.
  • FlulDect GmbH (Jena, fluidect.com) - the company is revolutionizing production process control in food production with a novel sensor for infection foci.
  • Hypt Health ADHD Telehealth GmbH (Berlin, hypt.health) - the company enables people in adulthood suffering from attention deficit disorder (ADHD) to deal with their condition in a new way.
  • momjobs (Duisburg, momjobs.de) - The company supports mothers entering the job market.
  • Periodically UG (Magdeburg, periodically.de) - the company contributes to the de-tabooing of menstruation with its offers.
  • the nu company GmbH (Leipzig, the-nu-company.com) - the company promotes positive consumption by producing and selling chocolate bars.
  • suena GmbH (Hamburg, suena.energy) - the company optimizes the operation of energy storage and renewable energies in real time.
