2022 China Digital Economy Innovation Development Conference was successfully held

On July 8th, the opening ceremony and summit forum of 2022 China Digital Economy Innovation Development Conference was successfully held in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. Xu Kemin, chief economist of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology conscientiously implemented the decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, focused on enhancing the industrial innovation capability, and promoted the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, and achieved a series of positive results. The comprehensive strength of China’s new infrastructure has reached a new level, and the world’s largest mobile broadband and optical fiber network has been built. As of May, the number of 5G base stations in China has reached 1.7 million; Key digital industries have grown stronger in overcoming difficulties. By the end of the year, the revenue of electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size had reached 14.1 trillion yuan. New technologies, products and platforms, such as big data, cloud computing and blockchain, are emerging, which has created a strong impetus into economic development; The pace of digital integration has become increasingly solid, with over 150 influential industrial Internet platforms and over 78 million sets of industrial equipment. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will focus on five aspects: key core technologies, new digital infrastructure construction, promoting the integration of digital economy and real economy, stimulating the potential of data elements, and strengthening the governance of digital economy.

Sun Zhiyang, deputy governor of People’s Government of Guangdong Province, said in his speech that as a big digital economy province, Guangdong has comprehensively promoted the construction of a strong digital economy with added value digital economy ranking first in China for five consecutive years, the scale of electronic information manufacturing industry ranking first in China for 31 consecutive years, which has promoted the digital transformation of over 22,500 industrial enterprises, driven 650,000 small and medium-sized enterprises to use “cloud”. In the next step, Guangdong Province will strengthen the resource guarantee, create a superior digital economy ecology, and make every effort to create a market-oriented, legal and international business environment.

Guangdong Digital Economy Development Guide 1.0 was officially released at the conference, and the signing ceremony of digital industry project, the establishment of industrial software innovation cooperation center, and the in-depth security tour of Guangdong industrial Internet were held. At the same time, the authority of the national think tank published the White Paper on China’s Digital Economy Development in 2021, the Research Report on China’s Digital Economy Development Index, and the Insight into the Present Situation and Trends of China’s Digital Economy Development, and also held 12 thematic forums and Chaoshan Night Talk.

The conference was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and jointly hosted by Shantou Municipal People’s Government, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Communications Administration, China Industry and Infarmation Technalogy Publishing & Media Graup, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the Fifth Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID). Academician Chen Chun, Zheng Weimin, Zhang Hongke, Jiang Changjun and Qian Depei attended the conference. More than 300 people, including relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, provincial departments, responsible comrades of municipal governments in Guangdong Province, responsible persons of competent departments of industry and information technology and relevant subordinate units from all over the country represented enterprises and media reporters at the conference.
