Siming to hold Zheng Chenggong Cultural Festival

The 2022 Cross-Straits Zheng Chenggong Cultural Festival will be held this month in Siming district in the coastal city of Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province, local authorities said during a district news conference on June 17.

This year marks the 360th anniversary of Zheng Chenggong’s recapturing of Taiwan, and the annual event will organize a series of activities such as traditional folk culture activities, and culture and tourism events, which are expected to deepen cross-Straits exchanges and forge closer ties between people from Fujian and Taiwan.

Local authorities said that a grand sacrificial ceremony will be held both online and offline in Fujian and Taiwan in late June. This year’s cultural festival will integrate culture, tourism and sports, and host a string of cross-Straits open competitions to boost cross-Straits relations between Fujian and Taiwan.
