ATLANTA - March 2, 2022 - PRLog -- The Black Collegiate Gaming Association (BCGA) made its mark during Black History Month with the Black College Con (BCC) Summit Tour. BCC will introduce more Black college and high school students to new career opportunities in the gaming/Esports industry and celebrate Blacks who are blazing trails in these white & Asian male-dominated fields.

BCGA, the only collegiate Esports and gaming company owned by an African American woman, kicks off its 2022 programming with Black College Con. The virtual gathering took place on February 26th and featured a few special guests such as Tiffany Grant King (HP), Dante Simpson (Espat TV) and Mark Mines (McDonald's Owner) & Marimar Velez (McDonald's Owner) to name a few.

The Black College Con Summit & Esports Tournament will be an in-person gathering that will take place on March 12th in the all-new Miles College Gaming & Esports Innovation Lab on the HBCU's campus in Birmingham, AL from 1 pm to 9 pm. The BCC Esports Tournament is an all-day event with conversations, career networking, and Esports competitions.  The gathering will also connect black college students across the country with Black corporate partners, successful entrepreneurs, and leaders in the gaming/Esports industry including PLAYSTATION, HYPERX, SCOPELY, MCDONALD's, DRAFTKINGS, HP, BENNETT THRASHER, and INTEL. The tournament will broadcast live on Twitch with more than 20 HBCUs & colleges participating. In addition, Charly Palmer, designer of the NBA 2K22 video game cover and Owner & Visual Artist at Charly Palmer Fine Art LLC will speak.

"The Black Collegiate Gaming Association has been a great partner in establishing our gaming curriculum at Miles College. This innovative way of engaging our students exposes them to new creative career opportunities within the technology field. We are appreciative of the associations' generous donation of $50K in gaming equipment and are delighted to host the Black College Summit & Esports Tournament on our campus," said Bobbie Knight, President of Miles College.

"This is the first time that platforms like this have been held in the gaming industry," said Keshia Walker, Founder, and Chairwoman of BCGA. "Black college & high school students, may for the first time, will have the opportunity to see and network with successful leaders in the industry and participate in fun gaming competitions for scholarships and prizes.

College & High School Students interested in participating in Black College Con may register for FREE at www.blackcollegecon.org until March 7th. BCC is giving away $7,000 in scholarships plus swag.

Keshia Walker launched BCGA in May of 2020 and made history herself by being the first Black woman to enter the male-dominated field of collegiate gaming & Esports.
