SAGAn Beauty & Healthcare Global Accelerator 2021, an accelerator program launched by the Saga Prefectural Government targeting cosmetics and healthcare startups, will be holding its Demo Day online on Feb. 28 (Monday), 2022, 3:00 p.m., when 10 teams hailing from Japan and abroad will be presenting their results. Agorize Japan, a global open innovation platform, is managing the program and the Demo Day with Vertex Partners and Saga AD.

Blessed with an abundance of natural ingredients, Saga Prefecture has been promoting its Cosmetics Initiative since 2013 with the vision of becoming a thriving industrial area home to one of the highest concentrations of beauty and healthcare companies across Asia. This program provides startups with access to Saga's wide range of resources for cosmetic businesses, including everything from production to distribution and opportunities for further growth, with the aim of attracting even more companies to Saga and fostering the development of innovative Saga-based businesses that will transform the world.
After reviewing the many nominations we had received in 2021 from 19 countries around the world (including Japan) under the themes of cosmetics, beauty devices/services, and healthcare, seven teams from Japan (including one from Saga Prefecture) and three teams from overseas were finally selected in November. Over the next four months, these ten teams explored partnerships with companies, organizations, universities, and other entities in Saga Prefecture while refining their business plans under the mentorship of external experts.
Demo Day offers an opportunity for these ten participating teams to present their business plans, which include their plans for business development in Saga, to a wide audience in both Japan and beyond. We hope that many of you will join us to witness how these entrepreneurs who are aiming to expand overseas from Saga and vice versa will take on this challenge.
