Corey Mitchell Named President TBWA\Chiat\Day New York

NEW YORK, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- TBWA\Chiat\Day today announced that it has appointed Corey Mitchell president TBWA\Chiat\Day, New York. Mitchell (38) was previously worldwide managing director for TBWA's global Mars account. Mitchell will have responsibility for both the TBWA\Chiat\Day and TEQUILA\ offices in New York and partner with executive creative director Gerry Graf.

"Corey understands the fundamentals of what it takes to build a business and help create new business opportunities not only with prospective clients, but with current clients as well," said Robert LePlae, president of North America for TBWA Worldwide. "His ability to forge powerful relationships with network clients, and effectively partner them with TBWA's various marketing disciplines, will prove instrumental as we accelerate the expansion of our media arts model."

Mitchell and Graf will lead the agency's New York management team that includes: Jamie Gallo, managing director TBWA\Chiat\Day, New York; Suzanne Powers, executive director strategy, TBWA\Chiat\Day, New York; and Steve Wilcox, managing director, TEQUILA\New York.

Mitchell has been with TBWA for eight years, including five with TBWA\Chiat\Day in Los Angeles, where he was a key member of the new business team that experienced a period of unprecedented growth.

In Mitchell's 19 years in advertising, he has held regional, national and global positions around the world from Melbourne to Hong Kong to Singapore to Sydney to Los Angeles, and New York. His brand, retail and CRM experience covers the full range of brand communication -- he has led the integration of digital, CRM, in-store, event, retail activation and advertising companies, on both a domestic and global level, and, at one point, also launched a brand arts and packaging company.

Mitchell's brand experience includes: Mars (Pedigree, Whiskas, Snickers, Skittles, Starburst, Dove/Galaxy, Twix, and Uncle Ben's) Pennzoil, Shell, Sara Lee, Anheuser Busch, EarthLink, XM Satellite Radio, Fox Studios, AT&T, Citibank, Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, Mobil, Nike, Novell, Schweppes, Sony, and various News Corp. brands.

"Corey is a champion of great work and ideas. I am confident that he is going to bring the kind of passion and leadership that will help define the future of the agency and build on the creative momentum that we have had over the last year," said Graf.

Current TBWA\Chiat\Day New York clients include: Absolut, Bayer, Beiersdorf (Nivea), Embassy Suites Hotels, Level and Mars (Combos, Skittles, Snickers, Starburst).
