Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it has partnered with SpeedBit Ltd. to provide free ZoneAlarm download protection for users of SpeedBit’s Download Accelerator Plus (DAP).
With a registered user base of more than 138 million, DAP is the Internet’s most popular download manager and enables customers to download files up to 400% faster. To make certain each download is secure, SpeedBit and ZoneAlarm now offer DAP Download Security, which scans each program using ZoneAlarm’s database of more than 250,000 programs. Upon completion of the scan, the user is provided with information regarding the level of risk associated with the download. Users are then supplied with additional information via Check Point’s ZoneAlarm Web site, which allows users to ascertain whether the download is desirable based on possible pop-ups and other intrusive activity that may be associated with the application. Utilizing ZoneAlarm’s Spy Site Blocking, users also receive warnings if the source of the download is potentially dangerous.
