Small Business Marketing Expert Guest Speaker at Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Event

By: WebWire

Recognizing the challenges Small Businesses are facing in a post COVID and recessionary world, a nationally-known expert on small business marketing, was invited to speak to members of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce June 28.

At the sold-out event, Brad A. Swezey, president of JustSmallBiz Marketing, offered small business members useful marketing tips to help them grow in the face of a recession and competition from big businesses.

“Let's face it, small businesses are the workhorses of our economy, but they often have the least help to survive,” said Swezey, a former Air Force officer and honors graduate from the United States Air Force Academy. “Big business has the money to hire lobbyists and influence matters while small business owners often get the short-end of the stick.”

Among the 9 Marketing Secrets Swezey discussed was such things as “Counting Beans.”

“Having done marketing for larger organizations, nothing gets done without knowing your numbers,” Swezey, who also attended Georgetown Law Center, said. “If you can't track your marketing efforts, you don't know what works and what doesn't, so you throw money down the drain and the next thing you know, your business might be closing its doors.”

Swezey also highlighted how important Chambers of Commerce are to small businesses and urged small business owners to join their local chambers.

“People like Bob White, the President of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce, are there every day fighting to help small businesses succeed,” said Swezey.

Swezey has written a column for small businesses for Florida Today and is available to speak to media who need someone to comment on small business matters.
