Columbia, MO — Missouri Eye Consultants has announced that they are welcoming Maggie Cardonell, M.D., to their office on Nifong Blvd. Located at 900 W Nifong Blvd, Suite 125, Columbia, MO 65203, Dr. Cardonell will bring her talents and compassion to the Missouri Eye Consultants team. A skilled ophthalmologist, she enjoys enhancing the quality of life for patients of all ages, and specializes in cataract surgery and eye misalignment disorders, with experience in comprehensive eye care as well as pediatric ophthalmology.

Dr. Cardonell has extensive training, and her philanthropic mindset is evidence of how she treats patients. Originally from Kansas City, she received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Missouri and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She went on to finish an ophthalmology residency at Geisinger Medical Center before receiving specialized training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Case Western Reserve University’s affiliated Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
After receiving her education, Dr. Cardonell practiced pediatric ophthalmology at the University of Missouri as well as general ophthalmology and cataract surgery at Harry S. Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital here in Columbia for several years. In addition to her professional experience, she provided medical and surgical health care to communities on mission trips in multiple countries in Asia, Africa, Central and South America.
