OOt Social, which had its beta launch on August 1, introduces an innovative and interactive live social map experience. The map shows live events and active hangout spots in the neighborhood, helping newcomers, expats, and tourists explore the local area and connect with people who share the same interests.

The new app features over 80 communities spread across four categories: Sport & Gaming, Music & Entertainment, Lifestyle & Culture, and Food & Cousine. Users can join as many communities as they like to get live recommendations mapped out across their select neighborhoods.
“OOt Social is the first map platform to show live data based on community preferences, empowering users through community engagement, while supporting the growth of local restaurants,” explained a company representative. “Our live map connects users to what’s happening now, whether it’s happy hour or a community gathering.”
The OOt Social app is now available in Austin’s popular Downtown hangout spot, the Warehouse District. This area is known for its trendy restaurants which serve international cuisine, including French comfort food and Italian delicacies. The neighborhood is also famous for its nightlife scene, with a variety of stylish cocktail bars, gay nightclubs, and cozy jazz and hip-hop venues.
All these events and social hubs can be found with OOt Social. Based on the communities a user is a part of, the map will display the happenings across the Warehouse District that they may be interested in attending. It will also provide a list of attendees, making it easier for newcomers to the city to meet new friends.
The team behind OOt Social believes that social apps should encourage people to go out and be social. As such, the app is designed to encourage social activities in real life by rewarding users with OOtchievements. Popular OOt activities include arcade games, karaoke, and picnics.
The new app is currently available in Austin, Miami, and Toronto – but the company has plans to expand coverage across Canada and the US. Features such as editable user profiles and a search tool are coming soon.
