Jackson’s Scott Golde Honored as Recipient of ThinkAdvisor LUMINARIES 2023 Executive Leadership Award

Golde was recognized for his significant leadership and continuous efforts to effect change in the insured retirement industry.

Golde is committed to helping Americans achieve financial freedom by actively engaging distribution partners and collaborating with key legislators. He is particularly focused on ensuring balanced regulations and appropriate business practices that do not limit access to annuities when they are in retirement investors’ best interest. In 2022, he co-led the planning and facilitation of a legal and compliance summit which fostered a useful dialogue with more than 20 distribution partners to help Jackson better understand how regulations have impacted our distribution partners’ business practices, create stronger connections and share best practices. Jackson held a similar, smaller group meeting in October 2023 that involved productive discussions regarding how distribution partners ensure clients receive recommendations that are in their best interest.

On the regulatory front, Golde actively advocates for uniformed and consistent regulatory requirements among states and various federal regulatory regimes, including with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). He also worked closely with Jackson’s Government Relations team to ensure Jackson had an active role in moving four pieces of legislation forward: SECURE 2.0, the EARN Act, the RISE and SHINE Act and the RILA Act.

Beyond his position at Jackson, Golde is an adjunct professor at Michigan State University College of Law and chairs the Michigan Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association, a nonprofit organization that protects Michigan policyholders against life and health insurer insolvencies. Prior to joining Jackson, he previously served as an in-house legal and compliance professional at wealth management firms and was also a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice.
