Solarity Credit Union Shows Continued Support for Children’s Health, Memorial Foundation With Charitable Donation

YAKIMA, WA / ACCESSWIRE / May 24, 2023 / Solarity Credit Union recently paid a visit to The Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization that has been helping the Yakima community since 1990. Solarity has sustained a close knit relationship with the Memorial Foundation and its mission to bring accessible, modern solutions for cancer care, children's health, and end-of-life programs for more than 30 years. While at the organization, Solarity gifted 16-month-old Lennon with a brand new, hot pink, electric miniature Jeep, and the company donated $39,000 to the Memorial Foundation itself.

Money for this most recent donation was raised under the Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) program, a national credit union initiative that raises funds and awareness for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®. Erin Black, CEO of the Memorial Foundation, says, "We are grateful for the continued support from Solarity Credit Union. This donation will make a direct impact on the more than 30,000 kids across Central Washington who will receive care locally through MultiCare Yakima Memorial this year."

Lennon is one of these children who has felt both the kindness and attentiveness of the Memorial Foundation. She is a pediatric patient at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and was treated in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). From the moment she was born on January 5, 2022, Lennon struggled to breathe and needed to be intubated as the medical experts worked to get her oxygen levels up. After a scary week for her parents, the exceptionally skilled doctors and nurses got Lennon on track to being a happy and healthy baby.

Lennon's mom shares, "We are forever grateful to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and our incredible doctors and nurses who saved our daughter's life. Because of the NICU, we have a healthy, happy and thriving baby girl who is meeting all of her milestones and was the missing piece to complete our family."

"It was so wonderful meeting sweet Lennon. It's incredible to see children like her thriving thanks to our local medical professionals," says Mina Worthington, president and CEO of Solarity Credit Union. "Solarity is beyond proud to support the mission of the Memorial Foundation. We think Lennon will have plenty of fun with that new ride."
