The Marty Nothstein Scholarship for Student Athletes was founded in honor of Marty Nothstein, a true legend in the world of track cycling. Born and raised in Allentown and Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, Nothstein commenced his cycling career at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center through its community programs. Throughout his career, Nothstein secured numerous World and Olympic records, National Championships, Pan Am Games Gold Medals, World Championships, and Olympic Medals.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Marty Nothstein is renowned for his dedication to conservation and the outdoors. Having protected over 500 acres of property from development, Nothstein has significantly enhanced wildlife habitats. He chaired the Lehigh County farmland preservation board and played a key role in safeguarding over 23,000 acres of farmland in his community. Nothstein continues to contribute to the outdoors and has served as director of development for Ducks Unlimited Mid-Atlantic and Mexico Region.
