LA-Z-BOY BOARD MEMBER PASSES AWAY

MONROE, MI. March 9, 2006 – La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE, PCX: LZB) today announced that Helen O. Petrauskas, a member of the company’s Board, passed away late Wednesday evening. She was 61 years old.

Petrauskas joined La-Z-Boy’s Board of Directors in 2000 and served as the Chairwoman of the Investment Performance Review Committee and as a Member of the Compensation Committee.

Patrick H. Norton, Chairman of La-Z-Boy, said, “It is with great sorrow that we make this announcement. Helen was an extremely accomplished, talented and dynamic woman who contributed greatly to our Board and Company. I feel privileged to have worked with her and am thankful for her wisdom, sound judgment and dedication to La-Z-Boy. On behalf of all of my colleagues, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to her family.”
