On September 14, 2009, CenturyTel, Inc. filed a press release announcing that it and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Embarq Corporation, have commenced joint debt tender offers under which CenturyTel, Inc. and Embarq Corporation will offer to purchase for cash up to $800 million of their outstanding notes.
