Item 8.01. Other Events.
On December 18, 2013, BancorpSouth, Inc. issued a press release announcing that BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc., a subsidiary of BancorpSouth Bank, headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi, signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Houston, Texas based GEM Insurance Agencies, LP. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
