The First Black-Owned NFT Marketplace, Disrupt Art, Launches October 15th

The emergence of blockchain technology and NFTs (“Non-Fungible Tokens) disrupts art, culture, and the global economy. This should mean expanded opportunities for all creators, but equity won’t happen without organization. Disrupt Art is an NFT marketplace and studio focused on equity, diversity, and bridging NFT technology to the world. We work with activists, allies, and organizations to build a more equitable future using NFTs. 

Disrupt Art is meant for creators around the globe who struggle to receive meaningful compensation for the value of their creative work. This is even more true for black and brown creators. NFTs are a generational wealth opportunity but equity won’t happen in the blockchain economy without being intentional. Disrupt Art is the first Black-owned NFT marketplace and is built on the Flow Blockchain. Founder Rob Richardson’s background includes representation of Laborers’ International Union of North America, a labor union serving the construction trade. He was the chairman of the University of Cincinnati’s Board of Trustees,  becoming the youngest person in the University’s history to have this title. In his tenure, he established the 1819 Innovation Hub where industry and talent collaborate to spark groundbreaking ideas, created a leadership development and academic preparedness program for high school students, and more!

A portion of all our profits goes to philanthropic organizations focused on expanding access and opportunities to underestimated youth and marginalized communities.
