The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and the University System of Maryland have launched a cloud computing program on edX’s MicroMasters. Online classes will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, and will last for eight months.

The newly announced graduate-level program will provide students with a solid understanding of cloud technology and its uses in modern business. They will also be introduced to the major cloud services in the market, such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, OpenStack, and more.
This MicroMasters comprises four courses, starting with a foundational lesson on enterprise cloud, which gives an overview of the industry. The types of technology behind private and public cloud infrastructure are discussed in the succeeding sessions.
Managing the implementation of cloud-based projects is also covered in depth, as well as addressing security issues to mitigate various risks.
Subjects will be taught by distinguished members of UMGC’s faculty, namely, Charif El MaMouni, Jarrod Jordan, and Patrick Appiah-Kubi.
This program is ideal for prospective cloud architects, engineers, cloud analysts, and network administrators who need grounding in this specialized field.
MicroMasters is part of edX, one of the leading massive open online course providers in the market. This series focuses on graduate-level education. The credits earned from completing its courses are recognized by partner universities.
For example, completing this course counts for 12 credits towards a full master’s degree in cloud computing architecture at UMGC.
