Meet Brandon Young: The Founder And CEO Of Young Management And Consulting Who Always Puts Clients' & Employee Needs First

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 9, 2021 / With years of varied experience in many fields, Brandon Young has been able to bring a strong skill set to his firm, Young Management and Consulting, that lead to it being named one of the top ten firms to keep on the lookout for in 2021.

As a first generation college graduate, Brandon is used to fighting against the odds to achieve his goals. He began his journey working a traditional path, taking his Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering towards 13 years in corporate America, working for many large companies. In 2015, his life changed when he started Young Management and Consulting, pushing it from a simple start-up to a fully functioning and self-sufficient company.

"While I'm proud to have the certification of being a project management professional with a masters in engineering construction management, what really makes me unique is the fact that I am one of the most extroverted engineers one may meet, and yet can relate to the most introverted individuals," Brandon outlines.

The idea of YMC may have seemed crazy when it was first conceived. Brandon began to think about how he could change the world from the perspective of many that have similar backgrounds to his own. His ultimate goal and core of the company is his motivation to help others.

"In life I have learned that there are those in communities that are less fortunate that need help and motivation. There are employees that are left out of growth opportunities because they do not fit the outdated HR models put in place by those that have come and gone. For example, many roles and rate of pay are weighted heavily on years of experience and age and less on whether or not the individual can actually perform the work. Lastly, there are corporations that need companies to be innovated to keep up with the rising demand for technology. We are motivated by our ability to help others no matter their social economic status," Brandon says.

Now, serving as the President and CEO of YMC, he's proud to be leading the small, certified disadvantaged business enterprise that specializes in strategic project management and controls, sourcing/procurement, construction management, and software development services. With the support of his team, Brandon works to help his clients minimize safety risks, reduce costs, enhance revenue, and increase profits while keeping their business objectives in mind.

"We have deep expertise in handling large-scale capital projects primarily focused on the energy sector, especially utilities and gas infrastructure space, with a goal to grow into being a full turnkey provider. Whether it's the need for turnkey solutions or staff augmentation for project management, project controls and construction management, YMC has the capacity to lead them all. We are keenly focused on innovation and lean continuous improvement in everything we do, which is a significant value add for our clients," Brandon elaborates.

It's no secret that great success has followed Brandon and his business as they've worked to gain clients' business and their trust; however, many would be surprised to learn the amount of challenges YMC has had to overcome to get where they are today. Above all else, when he looks back all he has accomplished, Brandon remembers staying on the path once you've started as the most difficult point.

"Getting started was exciting, scary and less challenging. I had already mastered the process with my current employer at the time. Starting and staying in business is more challenging, therefore, the biggest challenges when starting a business are: identifying capital, maintaining grit when the initial excitement slows down, structuring a scalable business model, and identifying and hiring key talent," Brandon says.

In the upcoming year, Brandon is looking forward to working and supporting their most recent opportunities with Southern Company & Public Service & Electric Gas where YMC is working as a Tier 1 and Burns & McDonnell, Gleeds, Quanta Services and ABB-Hitachi as a Tier 2 supplier. These companies are making huge strides to support supplier diversity.

Forming long term partnerships with diverse suppliers that can perform is becoming a key ingredient to do business. We are excited and thankful Young Management & Consulting has been offered the opportunity to add value as a diverse supplier, says Young.
