8 March, 2021 - Brooklyn-born and Jersey-bred funny man, comedian John Poveromo, has announced the launch of his new podcast Dystopia Tonight, now available on Apple and Spotify. John has appeared on countless tv and radio programs for over a decade and has been a regular performer on the US comedy circuit. He is renowned for his perfect blend of self-deprecation and optimism as he struggles to make sense of himself and the world around him.
Dystopia Tonight was born out of the Covid-19 pandemic to give people a light-hearted break from the absurdity of the world around them by showcasing artists, comedians, musicians and actors from all across the entertainment field and getting them to open up about what exactly they’ve been doing during this bizarre time in everyone’s lives. John asks his guests on the state of their lives, careers and well-being, while we all navigate through the current dystopia we’ve come to find ourselves living in. If one thing is for sure, the health pandemic has become the great equalizer as we are all stuck at home, in quarantine and most likely still in the clothes we slept in cause … where are we going to go anyways?
Feature guests on Dystopia Tonight this month include a legendary and ecletic line-up of entertainment talent like Carl Gottlieb (screenwriter Jaws), Allan Stephan (original member of Outlaws of Comedy and writer for Roseanne), Dex & Tom Carvey (sons of Dana Carvey), Camilla Cleese (comedian/actress/model and daughter of John Cleese), Rob Bartlett (comedian/writer Imus in the Morning radio show) and The Motels Martha Davis.
John has been featured in the New York Times, The Asbury Press, and NJ Monthly and has written for a variety of TV programs including Current TV’s Viewpoint with John Fusselgang, Joy Behar’s Say Anything on HLN, and VH1’s Best Of series.
