Santander Bank Named Business Partner of the Year by Junior Achievement of Southeastern Pennsylvania

Santander Bank, N.A. (“Santander,” “Santander Bank” or “the Bank”) announced today that it has been named the Business Partner of the Year by Junior Achievement (“JA”) of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Each year JA of Southeastern PA honors one of their business partners for their work in the community and support of Junior Achievement.

As the 2020 recipient, Santander Bank is being recognized for its volunteer efforts as well as the Bank’s longstanding charitable giving to JA of Southeastern PA. Annually, Santander reaches nearly a thousand students across southeastern PA through its financial literacy volunteer events and funding for program support. Most recently, Santander’s financial contributions enabled JA to pivot its programming to reach students virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Angela Moultrie, committed volunteer and Senior Director and Region President for Santander’s southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey retail branch network, accepted the award on behalf of Santander Bank at a virtual ceremony held Nov. 19, hosted by JA of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Santander Bank’s charitable programming with JA is part of the Bank’s Inclusive Communities Plan – an $11 billion, five-year commitment to its communities through 2021, during which time Santander Bank plans to increase its Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) activity by 50 percent and triple its charitable grants. Since 2017, in the state of Pennsylvania, Santander Bank has given $6.7 million in charitable grants and its employees have provided 10,873 CRA-eligible volunteer hours to non-profit organizations.

“We are delighted that Santander Bank’s work is being recognized by Junior Achievement of Southeastern Pennsylvania,” said Seth Goodall, Santander Bank’s Executive Director of Corporate Social Responsibility. “Helping young people understand how to responsibly manage money and set a smart path to saving is important to us at Santander, and our relationship with Junior Achievement helps us bring financial literacy fundamentals to students in our communities.”

“Our honorees are outstanding advocates for Junior Achievement. Their efforts to inspire the next generation of our workforce are unmatched and an example of the dedicated leaders needed to help young people move forward on their own success journey,” said Paul Kappel, Jr., President of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Pennsylvania. “They are exactly the right role models to represent the thousands of community volunteers and supporters that bring JA to life.”
