JetBlue remains firmly committed to our mission of Inspiring Humanity and our social impact pillar focused on community. It would not be possible for us to continue our operation without the dedication of our 23,000 crewmembers. They continue to work day in and day out to keep JetBlue running. We thank them for being so committed to serving JetBlue and our customers during this time.
Our mission is stronger now more than ever. As many of you know, first responders have been at the heart of JetBlue over the past 20 years. We have many retired police officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses and military personnel actively employed across the airline. We directly know the very substance of which they are made. At 7pm each evening, when we #ClapBecauseWeCare it is even more personal for our crewmembers as many are honoring former colleagues, peers, family and friends. With this comradery in mind, our crewmembers have come up with some unique ways to honor medical professionals and first responders and each other.
Distributing Snacks In Our South Florida Focus City
Our crewmembers in Fort Lauderdale came together to donate snacks to healthcare workers at the Broward Health Medical Center. Crewmember volunteers delivered dozens of boxes of snacks and Eat Up boxes to the heroes who are working around the clock to help combat the coronavirus pandemic. The donation was the first in a series planned for hospitals in both Broward and Palm Beach counties including Boca Regional Hospital and Bethesda West. Thank you to all who made these efforts possible, especially our volunteers, for showing support for other workers on the frontlines of this pandemic!
Teaming Up with TERRA Chip
We teamed up with our longstanding partners at TERRA to donate 100,000 bags of chips to be distributed to those in need. This donation to Feeding America will go directly to those in our local communities who need it most.
Local food banks remain focused on providing food and resources to those in need, including those who may be quarantined, and low-income families impacted by school closings and the economic downturn. To support food banks nationwide visit Feeding America.
Want to help in your local community?
The need to activate volunteers is greater than ever. Our most vulnerable populations need support and will continue to need support in the weeks and months ahead. For virtual volunteer opportunities and other resources visit https://www.pointsoflight.org/global-volunteer-month/.
