NEW YORK - Nov. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- The Wellness industry is a 4.2-billion-dollar global industry, as recently reported by the Global Wellness Institute (GWI.) There is a multi-generational and multi-cultural shifting of core values. With this shift comes an increased desire for authentic experiences and accumulating memories, rather than material items. In the Spring of 2018 Debra Duneier designed a wedding reception at Industria, a venue in the West Village of Manhattan, utilizing a unique process that she calls "purposeful design" that improves human experience. EcoChi has been globally recognized as a ground-breaking wellness design standard.

EcoChi 180° Certification is the only experience-focused, sustainable interior design certification and has been previously earned by permanent commercial spaces in hospitality, restaurants and workplaces. The Ballou/Lucas Wedding is the first event that has earned EcoChi certification.

Karen Ballou and Jay Lucas approached Debra to design their wedding reception after attending the Global Wellness Summit (GWS) in 2017 at The Breakers Palm Beach Florida. 600 Delegates from around the world experienced EcoChi purposeful, sustainable design, which was the first time this wellness design process was applied to a conference space.

"Every person has an energy and every space has an energy. For a wedding, it makes sense to marry the energies of the bride and groom and then to marry that energy to the space they will be celebrating in to optimize experience," says Debra Duneier, EcoChi President and Founder.

Design concept for the Ballou/Lucas wedding was based on the San Cai, or Chinese Three Powers of the Universe. These powers are Heaven, Human and Earth. All three energies were incorporated into the design including the Human energy in the form of a large-scale art gallery of the wedding couple and their families. The unique ramp at Industria was transformed into a carpeted passageway ascending guests into the celebration space while viewing photographic art representing special moments of love.

"What an incredible event!!! You exceeded even our highest expectations!!! We are so very deeply appreciative. The venue was 'breath taking.' We are so very blessed to have had the opportunity to work with you on this – our most special occasion." - Jay Lucas

Life is lived, and events are experienced, the way they are designed.
