LAKE CITY, Fla. - Oct. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- A new startup in this tiny little town is out to make a difference in the book and music publishing world. Bookady.com is now offering the first dedicated Online Book and Music Store that pays royalties instantly whenever a work is sold.
"Bookady.com is the brainchild of several independent authors," says its owner, Stormy Summers, who is herself an indie author and publisher. "One of the biggest drawbacks to the independent publishing world is the fact that you often have to wait many weeks to get paid once one of your books has been sold. This is a common practice among all of the big publishing websites, but sometimes it puts independent authors in a tough position."
Almost all of the major online booksellers, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and the rest, withhold payment from authors for up to ten weeks. Smashwords.com, probably the biggest independent online bookseller, recently went to paying monthly, but none of them have ever offered instant royalties.
"We simply feel that the author should be among the first to be rewarded for their efforts," Stormy says. "Instant payment of royalties isn't all we're about, however; we are also planning to offer a wide range of services, including helping with marketing and promotion. We'll be offering our own Audiobook Service soon, and we're already talking with a Print-On-Demand service so that readers can purchase printed books through our system. And now, we're delighted to offer a place for musicians and video producers to sell their work and get paid instantly as well."
Bookady.com is now live, and invites all independent authors and musicians to publish their work with them. In addition, the company welcomes literary agents, publishing companies and producers, inviting them to place the works of their clientele on the site. An author or musician can set up a Publisher Account on Bookady.com for free and start selling immediately under as many pen/stage names as they desire.
"We don't expect to take over the publishing world," Stormy says, "but we do believe that we have a place in it. We'll be constantly looking for new services to offer, and at ways to improve the ones we already have. This means we'll be listening to the authors, musicians and customers who use the site, so that we can continually improve."
