On Saturday morning, Taylor Rae revealed that her new mix tape “Dream Girl” will be available on July 29th. The announcement comes shortly after Beyonce announced that her new album, “Renaissance” will drop the same day. The “Caught My Eye” singer explained that she chose that date for just that reason. “Once Beyonce came out and said she was releasing her album that day, I thought, ‘Why not release mine on that date, too.’ Who knows, maybe the Queen will be curious and go looking at who else dropped that day. She’ll find me and listen to my music and boom, next thing you know I’m doing a song with her.”
In less than 3 years the 17-year-old singer/songwriter launched her own herbal hair and skincare brand, self-released her debut EP titled ‘23’, and still managed to graduate from Northwest High School in Cincinnati, Ohio with honors. In 2020, Taylor was featured as a Next Generation Boss in Essence Magazine’s Entrepreneur Virtual Summit.
Earlier this month, Taylor dropped two singles: “Caught My Eye” and “Act Like”. Both are available on all streaming platforms, as well as on her website. The last single to be released before the mix tape drops, “Goin’ Ham” will be released on June 30th.
