Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On June 20, 2008, Brush Engineered Materials Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing its agreement with the Department of Defense to construct a $90.4 million primary beryllium facility. The press release also provides an update regarding its earnings outlook for 2008. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
